So since we are here at Oktoberfest we had to make sure we fit in with all the Japanese and American tourists in fake Bavarian outfits:
I don’t think a photo can quite describe how awesome our Lederhosen actually are, but I don’t want to deprive you of this sight even so:
Yup, nothing but Luke’s chest hair can distinguish us from native Bavarians anymore.
I found out that in recent years, they have opened up a Legoland theme park right here in Germany. As a child I always wanted to go to Legoland, but at the time, the closest one was in Denmark. So since I’m not back in the country and they have built a Legoland only 130km away from my place, and since they had a Star Wars weekend where Stormtroopers and Darth Vaders were walking around, I thought it a perfect opportunity to take my little sister to Legoland for a day. It was a great experience and I think I had more fun than she did.
That’s right. That is a Lego model of the Neuschwanstein Castle. We had a great time, and I would definitely like to go back.
Justin and I went out to lunch today at Rosenheimer Platz and found an amazing Italian restaurant called Bella Italia. Seriously, one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had and that includes ones that I’ve had in Rome. This one in particular was a pesto, eggplant and feta cheese pizza. Bread, salad and pizza = 5,90. If you’re ever in the area stop in for a bite.
Hey Everyone!
I made it to Munich yesterday afternoon for the first time ev-ar. I have to say that it’s pretty sweet. Damn fine eats and drinks. Justin has been super about accommodations with his killer apartment in downtown Munich. Oktoberfest is just around the corner this Saturday and I’m super excited because all most all my my friends are going to be able to be here together for some nostalgic debauchery. It will be interesting to see how we fit 10 in this apartment…
My official job search will begin today. I guess everything up until this point has been prep work. The jobs that I’m looking at right now are not so much “English Teaching” jobs as “Pub Crawl” jobs. Of course this is just until I can get in at a museum. Sigh, right now I need just money. I guess being a bum does have its low points. Thank God, I brought my guitar and Native American flute, so I can be a proper bum.
Well, I guess thats enough for a first blog.
